Welcome to inspire 88

We don't do boring! Inspire 88 is dedicated to providing a comprehensive understanding of music, theory, technique, and expression while fully maximizing the fun factor! Through a dynamic mix of traditional teaching methods, educational games, and creative projects, your child's musical journey will be an exciting adventure

What we do:

Performing

Each year there is a Christmas recital and a Year End Recital for students to perform in. They are also encouraged to perform in the Edmonton Music and Speech Arts Festival, at studio piano parties, for talent shows at school, and for their family and friends.

Games and Challenges

Theory concepts are taught off bench and practiced with educational board games, card games, and earning prize challenges.

Results

Student’s who choose to take exams learn what it takes to earn high marks. Many students here achieve high marks on their exams with the Royal Conservatory of Music, achieve top marks at festival, and have even been recommended to perform at provincials.

Creating

We don’t just learn how to read music! Students are taught how to improvise and compose their own pieces to.

Building Community

For many students piano can feel like a lonely instrument. Students have the opportunity of attending piano parties throughout the year. These are workshops that get the kids together working on extra projects. We have so much fun learning together, performing for one another, making friends, and enjoying treats afterwards!

Technology

We have an ipad loaded with the best educational apps to use in our lessons! This provides students with a fantastic tool to practice theory concepts in one of the most engaging ways.

We started with Miss Rebecka a few years ago as our daughter really wanted to learn to play piano. We were quite skeptical that she would be able to pick up the skill or the passion to continue past the first year as we are not a very musically gifted family. However, through Rebecka's passion, patience and skill she has found her musical bone and has developed a true love for the piano. We are very thankful to have found Rebecka, she has a way of pulling the best out of all her kids no matter their skill level. Miss Rebecka is the most creative piano teacher! Her lessons are always fun and engaging and my daughter loves going. She will never forget her first lesson: not only did they play piano they played with rings and jewelry while learning about piano notes. Miss Rebecka also always makes practicing fun.
